Venezuela are having an incredibly good Copa America campaign at the moment. So far the team won all of its three matches – against Ecuador, Mexico and Jamaica. The Argentine manager Fernando Batista deserves a lot of respect for what he’s doing with the team. Now the Venezuelians dream of even reaching the final!
In their last game La Vinotinto faced Jamaica and crushed their ambition with a stunning 3-0 win in Austin. All of the three goals were scored in the second half of the game. Eduard Bello opened the score while Salomon Rondon and Eric Ramirez were in line to finish the job.
The 21-years old talent Telasco Segovia is an important player for Venezuela. Currently playing for Casa Pia in Portugal, Segovia is a player with a bright future.
Canada progressed to the 1/4-finals despite winning just one of their matches in the group stage. They also made one draw and suffered one defeat – against the trophy holders Argentina. Now they have the chance to reach the Top 4 of Copa America.
In their last match Canada faced Chile and surprisingly for many fought for a 0-0 draw in Orlando. The Chileans were favorites to take the win, but Jesse Marsch’s team showed some good spirit and secured the draw.
Alphonso Davies remains the leader of the Canadian team but keep an eye on Jonathan David – he’s currently one of the best players in the French Ligue 1.
